We have used the services of the folks below and recommend them.  If you have had an experience to the contrary, please notify me.

Electrician: (name given to us by the Woodrun office) Steve Campbell: 910-571-6072.  He has wired at least 40 homes in Woodrun over the years.

Driveway (Asphalt):  Smith Brothers.  Were prompt, price very reasonable, professional.  Did our super steep driveway in six hours.  704-982-9752

Surveyor: George W. Simpson.  910-439-9603 (Woodrun Resident).  We used his services several times for the various surveys needed on our lot/house.

Auto Repair:  Steve's Auto Repair in Troy has worked really well for us.  Years and years of experience, reliable, fair priced.  Visit stevesautorepair.biz.

We recently had our basement finished out by Charles Greene, an energetic young man.  His prices were very reasonable.  His crew kept us posted on the work as it progressed, cleaned up after themselves daily, and finished on schedule, on budget.  See web site at www.charlesgreene.homestead.com.
Since moving into Woodrun, I thought I'd devote a page to supplying answers to questions we had as newcomers and others might have.
We visited Stony Mountain Vineyard off 24/27 one day.  If you want to see a great view of the Uwharries, and do a little relaxing, then a pleasant experience awaits you.  Wine by the glass is $4 and you can enjoy the wine out on the deck while enjoying the view.  Views of Woodrun can also be seen.  The owner is a retired Marine colonel.  The Vineyard is open Friday and Saturday, 12:00 to 6:00 for sure, but the schedule may vary.

Fine Food:  Yadkin Valley Steakhouse whose food is comparable to the high end restaurants in Charlotte.  Harmancos is also good if you like Cajun food.  Badin Inn Country Club also has good food, relatively inexpensive and you can sit outside with a view of the golf course.
Q.  Where does one go for depositing household trash?
A.  Go down to the end of Creswell Road.  Turn left at the stop sign.  A trash compactor is located in the boat launch area.  For larger, non-household items:  turn right onto 24/27, then right onto 73.  There is a depository less than a mile down the road, open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Q.  Get some mail placed in your box by mistake?
A.  There are slots in front of several mail sections where you can put the mis-directed mail.
Our new best eating experience has been to The Ford Place in Mt. Gilead.  There is no reason to drive all the way into Charlotte to sample some really outstanding food!  Henry, the chef, is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University and produces some outstanding dishes.  Click here to see their menu and website.
Looking to visit an historic site that is only a 30 minute drive from Woodrun?  You may want to visit the great little town of Gold Hill, right off Highway 52.  The town is the site of one of the earliest gold mines in North Carolina.  There are several shops to visit, plenty of room to enjoy a picnic, a playground for the kids and more.   Click here to see their website.
